Rituals Before Holika Dahan

Before lighting the Holika pyre, devotees follow specific rituals:

1. Preparation of the Puja Thali – Arrange items such as turmeric, black sesame seeds, wheat grains, coconut, and sacred thread (Kalawa).

2. Offering Water to the Ground – Sprinkle water at the place where Holika is to be burned as a mark of purification.

3. Lighting a Diya – A small oil lamp is lit near the pyre.

4. Parikrama (Circumambulation) – People perform three rounds around the Holika while tying the sacred thread and offering coconut and other items.
