Adani Green Energy Expands Renewable Capacity to 11,666 MW with New Gujarat Project

Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), India's largest renewable energy company, has achieved a significant milestone by expanding its operational renewable generation capacity to 11,666.1 MW. This achievement comes with the commissioning of a 57.2 MW wind power component at Khavda, Gujarat, as part of its ambitious wind-solar hybrid initiative.
This new project was developed by Adani Renewable Energy Forty Eight Limited, a step-down subsidiary of AGEL. The decision to operationalize the plant was finalized on January 14, 2025, and power generation is set to begin on January 15.

Financial Performance and Growth
Adani Green Energy’s financial achievements have further solidified its standing in the industry:
- Net Profit Growth: 38.8% YoY increase to ₹515 crore in Q2 FY25
- Revenue Surge: 27.6% YoY growth to ₹3,055 crore
- EBITDA Growth: 24.8% YoY increase to ₹2,272 crore in Q2 FY25
Though the company’s EBITDA margin dropped slightly to 74.4% (from 82% in Q2 FY24), the numbers reflect strong growth and operational efficiency.
Driving India’s Renewable Energy Goals
The commissioning of the Khavda wind-solar hybrid project aligns with India’s renewable energy targets. AGEL continues to lead the charge by integrating innovation and scalability in its projects.
The shares of Adani Green Energy also witnessed a 13.22% surge on the BSE, closing at ₹1,007.55, highlighting investor confidence in the company’s vision and execution.
