Won't Kill You, Go Tell Modi": Heartbreaking Words From Pahalgam Terror Attack Survivor

A peaceful family vacation turned into a nightmare for a Karnataka family visiting Kashmir, as a terrorist attack in Pahalgam claimed the life of 40-year-old Manjunath, a realtor from Shivamogga. His wife, Pallavi, a bank manager, and their 18-year-old son, Abhijeya, survived the horrific incident and are now demanding justice and answers.

💔 "You Killed My Husband, Kill Me Too"

In a heart-wrenching phone conversation with Kannada media, Pallavi shared the painful details of the attack. The family had been in Pahalgam since April 19 and were set to return on April 24. On April 22, while Manjunath went to get food for their hungry son, gunfire erupted. What was initially mistaken for army firing turned out to be a planned attack targeting Hindu tourists.

“We saw him lying in a pool of blood. He was shot in the head. My son and I begged the terrorists to kill us too. But one of them said, ‘Nahin marenge. Tum Modi ko jaake bolo’ (I won’t kill you. Go and tell Modi),” Pallavi recounted.

🧕 Terrorists Targeting Hindu Men

According to Pallavi, the attackers avoided harming women and appeared to specifically target Hindu men. “There were around 500 tourists, and in many cases, only the husbands were attacked. They were not in army uniforms, and they kept saying things like ‘Bismillah’ as they fired,” she said.

Despite the trauma, she noted the humanity of some locals: “Three men helped us escape. I don’t know who they were, but they kept saying ‘Bismillah’ and guided us to safety.”

🚨 Calls for Government Support

Pallavi is now urging the authorities to airlift her husband’s body so she can return home with her son — not alone. “All three of us came here. All three of us should return together,” she said emotionally.

She added, “We’re still in shock. My son hasn’t eaten. We just want to go home with Manjunath one last time.”

Manjunath’s elderly mother back in Shivamogga has not yet been told of his death — only that he is injured, as the family struggles to cope with the tragedy.

This brutal attack once again highlights the fragile state of security in tourist zones like Kashmir. While efforts continue to promote peace and tourism in the valley, such incidents instill deep fear and loss in the hearts of everyday citizens.

We hope the government takes swift action, ensures justice for Manjunath, and provides full support to Pallavi and her son.

Stay safe. Stay informed.
