As the academic year reaches a crucial stage, over 5 lakh students in Uttar Pradesh have begun their High School and Intermediate Board Exams today, February 24. Conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP), these exams will continue until March 12, 2024.

Strict Monitoring for Fair Conduct

To ensure a smooth and fair examination process, the state has set up a state-level control room to monitor all 8,140 exam centres across Uttar Pradesh. Deputy Director and Control Room Incharge, Ram Shankar, highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating, "This control room is connected to all the 8140 exam centres in the state. We can monitor any exam centre to ensure a cheating-free environment."

Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act 2024

A significant step taken this year is the enforcement of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act 2024. This law introduces strict penalties to curb malpractice in exams, including a hefty fine of Rs 1 crore and even life imprisonment for those involved in organized cheating. UP Minister of Secondary Education, Gulab Devi, reassured students and parents about the government's commitment to fair examinations. "Like previous years, we are ensuring a cheating-free board exam. The new Act will help in taking strict action against 'cheating mafias,'" she stated.

Government's Role in Smooth Execution

To oversee the exam process, Minister Gulab Devi visited Jubilee Girls Inter College in Lucknow, where she interacted with students, offering motivation and encouragement. She emphasized that a control room is actively monitoring all exam centres, ensuring that students face no difficulties.

Record Number of Students Appearing

This year, approximately 54.5 lakh students are expected to take their Class 10 and Class 12 board exams in Uttar Pradesh. The sheer number of candidates highlights the significance of these exams in shaping the academic and professional futures of students.

Exam Schedule and Student Preparation

With exams running from February 24 to March 12, students have been preparing rigorously to perform well. Schools, teachers, and parents have played a crucial role in supporting students throughout their journey.

Conclusion

The UP Board Exams 2024 mark an important milestone for students across the state. With strong monitoring mechanisms, strict anti-cheating laws, and government oversight, the state is ensuring a smooth and fair examination process. As students embark on this crucial phase, their hard work and dedication will pave the way for a bright future.
