Renowned actor, karate expert, and archery champion Shihan Hussaini passed away in Chennai in the early hours of Tuesday, March 25, 2025. He had been battling blood cancer for a long time. Hussaini’s mortal remains will be kept at his residence, High Command in Besant Nagar, Chennai, for family, friends, students, and the public to pay their final tributes. In the evening, his body will be taken to Madurai for the final rites.
His family encouraged his students, archers, parents, and coaches to pay homage by shooting arrows and performing katas—a traditional martial arts form.

Throughout his cancer journey, Hussaini remained vocal and active on social media, sharing regular updates about his health. Moved by his courageous fight, the Tamil Nadu government extended financial support of ₹5 lakh for his treatment.
