IPL 2025: CSK Set for High-Voltage Clashes Against MI and RCB

The highly anticipated IPL 2025 season is set to begin on March 22, and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans have plenty to look forward to. The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side will face their fiercest rivals, Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), twice during the league stage. With the full schedule now released, CSK’s road to the playoffs will be packed with exciting battles.

CSK’s Fixtures Against MI and RCB

CSK will kick off their campaign on March 23 with a blockbuster clash against MI at home. The two teams will meet again for the return leg on April 20 in Mumbai. Notably, MI captain Hardik Pandya will miss the first encounter due to a one-match suspension for repeated overrate offenses in IPL 2024.

The southern rivalry between CSK and RCB will also be a treat for cricket fans. CSK will host RCB at Chepauk on March 28 before traveling to Bengaluru for the reverse fixture on May 3. These matches will be crucial as both teams aim for a strong league stage performance.

IPL 2025 Format and Groups

As per the format introduced in 2022, the 10 teams have been divided into two groups:

Group 1: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Punjab Kings (PBKS)

Group 2: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Titans (GT), Mumbai Indians (MI), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)

Each team will play 14 league matches, facing other teams in their group and one selected team from the opposite group twice, while playing the remaining teams once.

IPL 2025 Key Dates and Venues

The tournament will commence with defending champions KKR taking on RCB at Eden Gardens. CSK will play four of their first six games at home, giving them a strong start in front of their passionate fans at Chepauk.

The playoffs will see matches spread across multiple venues:

  • Qualifier 1 (May 20) – Hyderabad

  • Eliminator (May 21) – Hyderabad

  • Qualifier 2 (May 23) – Kolkata

  • Final (May 25) – Kolkata

New Venues in IPL 2025

This season introduces matches at three new venues:

  • Guwahati – Rajasthan Royals’ second home, hosting games on March 26 and 30

  • Visakhapatnam – Delhi Capitals’ first two home games

  • Dharamsala – Punjab Kings’ three home games
