The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is set to release the much-awaited IBPS PO Mains Result 2024 this January. Conducted in November 2024, the Mains examination marks a crucial step for banking aspirants aspiring to secure the prestigious Probationary Officer (PO) position. Here’s all you need to know about the result process and the next steps.

How to Check IBPS PO Mains Result

Candidates can download their results as soon as they are released by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official IBPS website: ibps.in.
  2. Navigate to the CRP PO/MT section and select CRP Process Probationary Officers/Management Trainees XIV.
  3. Click on the link for the Mains Result/Scorecard.
  4. Enter your Registration Number/Roll Number and Password/Date of Birth.
  5. Submit the details to view your result.
  6. Download and save the scorecard for future reference.

IBPS PO Mains Exam Structure

The Mains examination comprises both objective and descriptive sections, testing candidates on various skills:

Objective Tests (200 Marks):

  • Reasoning and Computer Aptitude: 45 questions, 60 marks (60 minutes)
  • General/Economy/Banking Awareness: 40 questions, 40 marks (35 minutes)
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: 35 questions, 40 marks (40 minutes)

Descriptive Test (25 Marks):

  • English Letter Writing: One question out of three (10 marks)
  • English Essay Writing: One question out of three (15 marks)

Time allotted for the descriptive section: 25 minutes.

What’s Next After the Mains Result?

Candidates who qualify in the Mains will advance to the Interview Round, scheduled for January/February 2025. Key details about the interview process include:

  • Venue & Details: The call letter or admit card will provide information on the interview centre, address, time, and date.
  • Total Marks: The interview carries 100 marks, with a minimum qualifying score of 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates).
  • Weightage: The Main exam and interview scores will be weighted at 80:20 for the final provisional allotment.

Important Notes for Interviews:

  • Candidates must qualify in both the Mains exam and interview to be eligible for provisional allotment.
  • Interview scores of disqualified candidates will not be disclosed.

Provisional Allotment

The final provisional allotment will be announced in April 2025. This result will determine the candidates’ placement in participating banks based on their merit and preferences.
