Yet, after hours of persistent persuasion, Jamyang succeeded in securing Haryana's admission to Dayanand Public School in Dharamshala.

The journey had only begun. Initially, Haryana found it difficult to adjust to life at school and in a hostel for destitute children set up by the trust. She missed her home and parents, but her determination to escape the cycle of poverty kept her focused on her studies. Slowly but surely, her hard work paid off.

A Journey of Academic Excellence

With her eyes set on success, Haryana excelled in her studies. She passed her senior secondary exams with flying colors and even cleared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), India’s highly competitive entrance exam for medical studies. However, her dream of becoming a doctor seemed out of reach as private medical colleges in India were prohibitively expensive for someone from her background.

But destiny had other plans. With the support of the Tong-Len Charitable Trust and the generous help of its UK-based donors, Haryana secured admission to a prestigious medical college in China in 2018. After years of dedicated study, she recently returned to India, having completed her MBBS, and ready to serve her community.
