The recent blast near a CRPF school in Delhi's Rohini has sparked a political row between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Delhi Chief Minister Atishi criticized the BJP-led central government for failing to maintain law and order, likening the situation to Mumbai's underworld era.

She accused the Centre of prioritizing political interference over governance, resulting in heightened crime and public insecurity in the capital. "Gangsters are extorting money, bullets are flying openly, and the BJP has neither the intent nor ability to control this," Atishi stated on social media.

The explosion, which occurred on October 20, was caused by a low-intensity improvised explosive device (IED). Although no injuries were reported, the blast damaged the school’s walls and nearby vehicles, raising concerns about public safety. Delhi Police launched an investigation and is exploring a possible Khalistani link, following cryptic online posts hinting at involvement.

In response to Atishi's accusations, BJP spokesperson Shazia Ilmi criticized her for politicizing the matter. Ilmi described the CM as a “puppet” focused on blaming the Centre rather than offering solutions. “This isn’t the time for political games,” Ilmi argued, calling Atishi’s remarks immature and irresponsible.

The incident underscores the ongoing friction between AAP and the BJP over governance in Delhi, with both parties trading barbs while investigators continue their probe. Public anxiety remains high, with many awaiting further developments in the case.

As the investigation unfolds, the political blame game highlights deeper tensions between the state and central governments over crime control and governance responsibilities.
