After nearly a decade of legal disputes, Hollywood icons Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have officially reached a divorce settlement, according to Jolie’s lawyer. The resolution marks a significant moment in the long-running saga between the two stars, who were once regarded as one of the entertainment industry’s most glamorous power couples.

Dubbed "Brangelina" by the media, Jolie and Pitt captured global attention with their high-profile relationship. They began dating after meeting on the set of the 2005 film Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The pair married in 2014 and share six children. However, their union was short-lived, as Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, citing "irreconcilable differences."

The divorce proceedings, which have spanned eight years, have been fraught with acrimony. During separate court cases, Jolie alleged that Pitt had been abusive toward her and two of their children during a private jet flight in 2016. A police investigation into the incident concluded without charges, and Pitt has denied the allegations. Despite the legal wrangling, both parties initially expressed a desire to keep the separation private. However, subsequent legal battles have revealed the contentious nature of their split.

Jolie’s lawyer, James Simon, stated that the actress has been focusing on “finding peace and healing for their family” throughout the legal process. He added, “This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.”

The couple’s disputes have extended beyond child custody, including a bitter battle over Chateau Miraval, a sprawling French vineyard they purchased together in 2008. The vineyard, where they also tied the knot, became a focal point of contention after Pitt accused Jolie in 2022 of selling her stake in the property to Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler without his consent. Pitt alleged that the sale was intended to harm his wine business. Jolie has not publicly commented on the lawsuit.

In 2021, the couple agreed to a joint custody arrangement for their children. However, it remains unclear whether the recent settlement will fully resolve the ongoing legal disputes related to Chateau Miraval or other aspects of their separation.

Angelina Jolie, known for her roles in films like Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Changeling, and Girl, Interrupted, continues to focus on her career. Her latest project is a biopic titled Maria, in which she portrays opera singer Maria Callas. Meanwhile, Brad Pitt, whose acclaimed works include Fight Club, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Twelve Monkeys, has been busy filming an upcoming Formula One movie, F1, where he plays veteran driver Sonny Hayes.

The divorce marks the end of an era for the pair, who were once one of Hollywood’s most celebrated couples. While the settlement provides some closure, the legacy of their partnership—and their ongoing disputes—will likely remain a topic of public interest for years to come.
