Bank customers, take note! Banks across several parts of India will remain closed on June 6 (Friday) and June 7 (Saturday) due to Bakrid (Eid-ul-Adha) celebrations. In addition, Sunday, June 8 is a regular weekend holiday, which means a 3-day bank holiday in many regions.

📅 Bank Holidays in June 2025

  • Friday, June 6:

    • Banks closed in: Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi for Bakrid.

  • Saturday, June 7:

    • Banks closed in most parts of India for Bakrid.

    • Banks open in: Ahmedabad, Gangtok, Itanagar, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram, as it's the first Saturday of the month (only 2nd and 4th Saturdays are official bank holidays).

  • Sunday, June 8:

    • All banks closed nationwide as it is a regular Sunday holiday.

Bakrid, also known as Eid-ul-Zuha, is an important Islamic festival that honors the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. It's also known as the ‘Festival of Sacrifice’ or the ‘Goat Festival’ and is widely celebrated across India.

Yes! Even though physical bank branches may remain shut, online banking services will be available 24x7 across the country. Customers can carry out regular financial tasks like:
